02Choosing the alloy

03Design notes for mobility parts
- Multi-hollow decks give high bending stiffness at low weight — webs are placed where loads travel.
- Welded frames lose strength in the heat-affected zone; 7005 recovers much of it by natural aging, 6061 needs re-heat-treatment.
- Cosmetic faces — colored anodizing highlights die lines, so visible faces are specified and controlled.
- Fatigue — generous radii at webs and holes improve life under cyclic loads.

05Frequently asked questions
Why are inline-skate frames made from 7075 or 7005?
Skate frames must be stiff and strong at low weight. 7075-T6 is among the strongest common aluminum alloys, and 7005 combines high strength with weldability.
Is 6061 or 7005 better for bicycle frames?
Both are widely used. 7005 regains much of its strength after welding by natural aging; 6061 is easier to form and is usually re-heat-treated after welding to restore full strength.
Can you anodize scooter and bike parts in colors?
Yes — colored anodizing, sandblasted and polished finishes are common for visible mobility and sports parts.
