Aluminum Extrusions for Solar, EV & E-Mobility

In short

Aluminum extrusions carry much of the energy transition: solar racking rails, EV battery trays and crash members, e-bike and scooter frames, and charging-station housings. They combine a high strength-to-weight ratio with corrosion resistance and recyclability. CharMax extrudes these profiles in 6061, 6063, 7005 and 7075 under an IATF 16949:2016-certified quality system, with material certificates for every lot.

01Applications

Solar racking

Rails, clamps and brackets for roof, carport and ground systems. Solar profiles.

EV battery structures

Multi-hollow side members, cross members and tray frames that protect cells and carry crash loads.

Scooters, bicycles & skates

Decks, stems, frame tubes and skate frames in 6061, 7005 and 7075. Mobility & sports profiles.

Charging infrastructure

Housings, posts and heat sinks for AC and DC chargers.

02Structural profiles need documented properties

Structural parts are designed from guaranteed minimum properties, so every lot ships with material certificates showing chemical composition and, where specified, tensile results. Temper is confirmed by hardness checks after aging.

Multi-hollow crash and battery profiles concentrate stiffness where loads travel. Their internal webs are designed with the die in mind — web thickness, node radii and cavity count all affect extrudability and cost.

03Automotive programmes

CharMax is certified to IATF 16949:2016, the automotive quality management standard, alongside ISO 9001 and ISO 14001. Automotive profiles are produced under that system from billets we cast ourselves from primary aluminum. Tell us your PPAP level and customer-specific requirements at RFQ stage. 04Frequently asked questions

Which aluminum alloys are used for EV battery trays?

Extruded battery-tray members are typically 6000-series alloys such as 6061, 6082 and 6005A in T6 temper, chosen for strength, crash behaviour and weldability. The exact grade follows the vehicle maker's specification.

Why use aluminum extrusions for solar racking?

Aluminum rails are light to handle on roofs, resist corrosion without painting, and can integrate clamp channels and feet slots in one section. Anodizing extends outdoor life further.

What alloy is best for e-bike frame tubes?

6061-T6 is the common choice for its strength, weldability and fatigue behaviour. Frames are usually welded and then re-heat-treated to restore strength in the welded zones.
