Aluminum Profiles for Phone Cases, Flashlights & Camera Housings

In short

Consumer electronics use extruded aluminum for phone cases and bumpers, flashlight bodies and security-camera housings because it is light, rigid, conducts heat and anodizes to a premium colored finish. CharMax extrudes these sections with tolerances better than the GB/T high-precision grade, from primary aluminum for even anodizing, then CNC-machines and finishes them.

01What we make

Phone cases & bumpers

Thin-walled frames and bumpers machined from precision extrusions.

Flashlight bodies

Round and fluted tubes, heads with cooling fins, tail caps.

Camera housings

Security and CCTV camera bodies that seal the electronics and shed heat.

Device enclosures

Housings for speakers, routers, chargers and small electronics. See enclosures.

02Cosmetic quality starts with the metal

Colored anodizing reveals everything — streaks from inconsistent chemistry, die lines and handling marks. We cast billets from primary aluminum only, with no recycled scrap, and verify every melt on our spectrometer, so the anodized color stays even from batch to batch.

Visible faces are specified on the drawing and protected through extrusion, machining and packing.

03Alloys for consumer products

  • 6063 — the best anodized appearance for cases, flashlights and trims.
  • 6061 — stronger and more machinable for structural frames and threaded parts.
  • 7075 — very high strength for thin, premium device frames.

05Frequently asked questions

Why are flashlights and phone cases made from aluminum?

Aluminum is light, rigid and conducts heat away from LEDs and electronics, and anodizing gives it a hard, colored, premium surface.

Which alloy gives the best anodized color?

6063 gives the most uniform anodized appearance. Using primary aluminum rather than recycled scrap further improves color consistency.

Can you machine the extrusions into finished parts?

Yes. Profiles are cut and CNC-machined to your drawing before finishing.
