Architectural Aluminum Profiles for Windows, Doors & Facades

In short

Architectural aluminum profiles are 6063 and 6060 extrusions for window and door frames, curtain-wall mullions and transoms, railings and louvres, finished by anodizing, powder coating or electrophoretic coating for long outdoor life. CharMax extrudes system and custom architectural profiles — including multi-chamber sections with thermal-break pockets — finished to project color schedules.

01What we supply

Windows & doors

Frames, sashes, mullions and beads for casement, sliding and tilt-turn systems.

Curtain wall

Mullions, transoms, pressure plates and caps for stick and unitized facades.

Railings & balustrades

Posts, top rails and glass channels for balconies and stairs.

Louvres & sun shading

Blades, frames and brackets for ventilation and solar control.

02Finishes for decades outdoors

Anodizing gives a durable metallic finish; exterior work typically specifies 15–25 µm. Powder coating offers any RAL color, with higher-durability polyester grades for strong sunlight. Electrophoretic coating over anodizing adds a clear, smooth protective film. Wood-grain transfer gives timber looks with aluminum's durability.

For facades, color consistency across deliveries matters as much as durability — we approve master color samples with you and check every batch against them.

Compare options in anodizing vs powder coating.

03Tolerances and standards

Architectural profiles are commonly produced to EN 755-9 or, for 6060/6063 precision profiles, EN 12020-2. Chinese building projects reference GB/T 5237. Local codes also set minimum wall thickness for load-bearing window and door members — tell us your market's code and we design to it.

04Project workflow

  1. Drawings & schedule

System drawings, profile list, finish schedule and delivery phasing.

  2. Samples

Profile samples and finish panels for approval — the master reference for production.

  3. Production

Extrusion, finishing and inspection against the approved samples.

  4. Labelled delivery

Protective film and packing labelled by profile, floor or elevation.

05What to send for a quote

The more of this you share, the faster and more accurate the quote. Missing something? Send what you have — we will ask.

  1. Profile drawings or system catalogue
  2. Alloy and temper
  3. Finish and color schedule
  4. Lengths and quantities per profile
  5. Protective film and packing requirements

06Frequently asked questions

Should window profiles be 6060 or 6063?

Both are standard. 6060 extrudes slightly more easily and gives an excellent surface; 6063 is a little stronger. Many European systems use 6060, while 6063 is the global default. Either anodizes and powder coats very well.

Anodizing or powder coating for a facade?

Anodizing suits metallic architectural finishes and resists abrasion; powder coating offers unlimited colors. Both last decades when specified to the right class. See our finish comparison.

Can you extrude profiles for our own window system?

Yes. We work from your system drawings, make the dies, and submit samples for approval — the dies are reserved for your system only.
