What is the difference between 6005A and 6061?
6005A is slightly lower in strength but significantly easier to extrude, so it allows thinner walls, complex hollows and faster, cheaper production. 6061 is preferred for heavily machined parts.
Is 6005 the same as 6005A?
They are closely related registrations with slightly different composition limits. 6005A is common in European standards; 6005 appears more often in North American specifications.
