1100 Aluminum: Commercially Pure, Easy to Form

In short

1100 is commercially pure aluminum — at least 99.00 % Al with a small copper addition — that is slightly stronger than 1060 while remaining extremely formable, weldable and corrosion resistant. It is widely used for sheet-metal work, spun and drawn parts, cookware, fin stock and chemical-handling equipment.

What is the difference between 1100 and 1060 aluminum?

1060 is purer (≥ 99.6 %) and slightly more conductive; 1100 (≥ 99.0 %) contains a little copper, making it somewhat stronger. Both are soft, formable and non-heat-treatable.
